Meet the Team - John Lindsay

John grew up at Clippesby and took over the day to day running of the campsite from his mum and dad 'Jean & Jock' in 1988.

In the early days, John and his wife Sue (more about Sue later) worked in almost every area of the park, in Reception and the Coffee Shop during the day and in the evenings in the Muskett Arms.  Although still very much involved in the day to day business, John now spends much of his time in his newly created garden which is inside of the old walled garden of the Hall.  John grows flowers, salad and vegetables which are used in both the Coffee Shop and the Muskett Arms - as food miles go, you can't get much more local than that!

John and Sue enjoy their holidays in their motor home both in Europe and the UK and often come back with ideas that we can use at Clippesby.  John has just returned from skiing in France and in his opinion says 'everyone should take more holidays'.

Skye Refurbishment - so nearly there

Just popped in today to see what Dan has been up to and wow, what a difference.  The bedroom is almost finished except for 2nd fix electrics and skirting boards, and the bathroom just needs the grouting finishing off.

What was once quite a dark and dated bathroom is now modern with a spacious shower cubicle and clean lines.

The kitchen and lounge area is well under way, with the kitchen units due to go in by the end of the week.

By the end of next week 'Skye' should be finished and ready for furnishing.  I'll do one final post to show you the end result.

Next stop .... new bathrooms for our Courtyard Chalets - Wenlock and Braemar.

Meet the Team - Dan Farman

Dan has worked at Clippesby for 7 years on a full time basis.  Dan is a builder by trade so during the winter months he tackles all the renovations and repairs to the cottages and lodges.  This year his main project has been the complete renovation to 'Skye', and when that is finished he is moving on to putting new bathrooms into the Courtyard Chalets.

In the summer when the park is busy, Dan also helps out the Rangers, Malc & Ben with general site maintenance, grass cutting and of course showing people to their pitches when they arrive.

Dan says he loves to work as part of a team and the staff at Clippesby are great.  His favourite job so far, was the building of Pine Lodge 3 which he really enjoyed.

Funky Camping

I met a really lovely lady yesterday from 'Clever Camper', which is a business local to us in Norwich that hires out tiny 'teardrop' shaped caravans.

[caption id="attachment_113" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Teardrop Trailer Caravans from 'Clever Camper'"][/caption]

These tiny caravans have a double bed, a hatchback kitchen, and come kitted out with everything you need for a hassle free camping break.  If you fancy the idea but don't have a tow-bar, no problem!!  Imogen will deliver the trailer to our campsite for you.

From just £99 for a weekend break, how cool would it be to use one of these funky little campers at our Music Festival in May.

Imogen can be contacted on 07811 460307  or email

Snow on the ground, but clear blue skies & sunshine

[caption id="attachment_108" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Not a tent in sight"][/caption]

We had quite a covering of snow on Saturday night, and today with the clear skies and lovely sunshine, the park looks really pretty.  Don't think the snow is going to last long though!

[caption id="attachment_109" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="All weather pitch in the Old Orchard"][/caption]

If you are feeling brave, we do have some space on our 'all weather' pitches for February half term and some great deals in the Pine Lodges and other self catering accommodation (all centrally heated and toasty warm).  There is lots going on in the local area with the CanoeMan organising 'Peddle & Paddle' days for the children, BeWILDerwood having a 'Boggle Wish Bonfire' and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust holding various events throughout the week.

With 58 days still to go until the Easter Holidays, why wait?  Treat yourself to a few days R&R at Clippesby, we'd love to see you.

Meet the Team - Diane Bell

Diane has worked at Clippesby for 15 years, starting off as a cleaner and working her way up to Housekeeping Supervisor.

Her job entails keeping all of the toilet blocks on the campsite clean and tidy, cleaning the self catering properties and the Muskett Arms.  Diane's favourite part of the job is to welcome guests into their accommodation after arrival, checking that they have everything they need and that they are completely happy.   She also loves driving 'Billy', the golf cart that the Housekeeping girls use to transport all their equipment around the park.

Diane says she wouldn't want to work anywhere else, her work colleagues are like family and the regular customers to the park over the years have become friends.
